Southwood Park Public School is a JK - Grade 8 dual-track school (English and French Immersion Programs) with a current enrolment of just over 600 students. The school was built 1969 and is located in a mature residential area of Ajax. Our two special education programs include a Junior-Intermediate Learning Strategies Class and an Enterphase Class. For the most part, the students in our English program walk to school from the local community, while our French Immersion and Special Education students are bussed from the Ajax area south of the 401 highway.

Southwood Park Public School is a great place to learn and play. Students enjoy the many extra-curricular activities offered before school, at lunch and after school under the leadership of dedicated and enthusiastic staff. Our monthly Swordfish Character assemblies highlight the character traits valued by our school community. Student leadership is evident around the school from lunchroom helpers and office helpers to Student Council members. The diversity of the school is evident from the great variety of learning styles and interests revealed in our Multiple Intelligences surveys. In addition, the French Immersion program offers a host of learning opportunities in a second language. We think that this makes Southwood Park a truly Canadian school with heart!
